"山" The Mountains

The Mountains design was inspired by Chinese ink landscape paintings. The aluminum material emphasized the contrast between light and shade which makes this organic form stand out. The high precision CNC machining is what made this design possible.
The Mountains is made out of a piece of 2" by 2" by 2" aerospace-graded aluminum, It took an hour and a half to complete the machining operation, including rough passes and finishing passes. The CAD and CAM files were created on SolidWorks.
